Courtney Gaudion

Illustrator & Designer, Website and Branding  Specialist, Courtney Gaudion introduces herself and experiences working as a local artist.

My name is Courtney Gaudion. I grew up down south in rural Southland. I’ve always been creative; illustrating, writing, dreaming, imagining but most recently fell into designing alongside illustration.

Its a dream come true to serve, inspire and empower people with my creativity in order that they then inspire and empower others in their businesses and lives.

Explain what you do in the simplest form.

I illustrate beautiful thoughts and musings. I specialise in building beautiful websites and branding too!

What was the most challenging part about setting up your business and how did you overcome it?

Imposters syndrome sucks (thank goodness its often a feeling & not a reality therefore it passes) and so does getting started, but in the words of Marie Forleo ‘Everything is figure-out-able’ and gosh darnit so far she’s right!

What is your dream project?

To be honest getting to work with any service based women client start up is a dream come true!! I still get such a buzz out of helping them get started!!

What inspired you to pursue your artwork?

My artwork and thoughts often come as result of personal life experience, I hoped that my journey and findings would resonate with others.

What sets you apart from other artists?

I believe sometimes the best projects go by ‘feel’ and that an intuitive, whole hearted approach is what sets me apart!

Name a local artist(s) that inspire/s you.

I forever adore Raquel Clarkes work, I could get lost in her ethereal field of flower oil paintings.

What is an artistic outlook on life?

An artistic outlook is seeing beauty in the little things, and allowing our eyes to be opened to the wonder in even the mundane.

How did your business name come about?

Kindred is about like minded spirits, people connecting, creating, building each other up and working together to create wonderful things.

Where can we find you/r artwork?

The best place to find me is on instagram @kindredbycourtney or kindredbycourtney.com
